Update to Dues Payments

Good Evening Everyone.

I wanted to take a brief moment and explain an update that is being added to the website.  Hopefully, this will cut down on some of the confusion.

Per the LEBA bylaws Dues are due at the beginning of each year.  From this point forward On January 1st of each year all instructors access to the website will be taken away.  Under the register/login link, there is a new clickable button for paying dues.  By clicking this link you will be taken to a page where you can pay your dues.  Once your dues are paid please allow 48 hours for your account to be reactivated.  If you need to pay your dues for the following year prior to January 1st that is fine and your access will not be denied.

As I said before I hope that this will help alleviate some of the confusion and issues we as board members have been seeing.  If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me at leba747@hotmail.com

Thanks Shawn

National Meeting November 5th 2017.

The 2017 National Meeting will be held November 5th 2017 in Myrtle Beach SC.  Please check back for updated information.

Ordering Materials? Read this!

Hello Instructors, consider this a friendly reminder as you prepare to order materials.  Please allow 21 days for delivery of your materials.  If you place an order with less than 21 days notice you will be charged extra for shipping. For some of you this extra charge could be substantial. Thank you.

The northernmost LEBA certified bike officers now in Yellowknife, Canada

Education Coordinator Kevin deVillenfagne has just returned returned to Calgary, Alberta, Canada after teaching a level B course to a group of Bylaw Officers from Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, Canada. Yellowknife now has the distinct honor of being the northernmost LEBA group on the planet.

Yellowknife gets 8 months of winter, and then 4 very short months of Spring Summer and Fall. Kevin shared has shared a class photo and a map  to show just how far north Yellowknife is. They can be overtaken as the northernmost LEBA certified bike patrol should we teach a class in Fairbanks or Nome, (or in Finland or Sweden). For now, however, they are it.

Congratulations on your accomplishment Yellowknife Bylaw Officers and welcome to LEBA.IMG_2305 Map.Yellowknife

LEBA in the news. Our training used with great success at RNC.

Secret weapon in handling RNC protesters: police bikes.  During the first two days of largely peaceful demonstrations here, the centerpiece of the law enforcement management strategy has been the simple mountain bike.

Instructors welcome to the new web page!

The web page is nearing completion.  Instructors as before your user name is “LEBA” with your instructor number. All user names are 8 digits so if you have a three digit instructor number put a zero before your number.  Example LEBA0123.  At the login you can reset your password to get into the page.  The website will send you an e-mail with your temporary password.  If you do not get an e-mail it is because we have an old e-mail address for you.  If this happens contact Ben Kaufman at bikecop_901@yahoo.com to get it sorted out.

Thank you for your patience and be safe out there.

LEBA has a new Training Coordinator

Thats right Jason Young has taken over for Ben Kaufman as the Training Coordinator.  What does that mean? Well, Jason will now be processing all the materials orders.  Ben will still take care of your webpage issues but if yoyu have an order problem you will need to contact Jason.  As always you are responsible for paying your dues and keeping your web access up to date. Make sure you add your class and get those orders in with enough time to get them shipped out to you.  LEBA will cover shipping unless it has to be expedited then the additional cost is on you or your agency.   If you need to contact Jason he can be reached at leba556@aol.com.
